This easy homemade banana bread recipe has been passed down from my Great Grandmother to my Nana to my Mom and to Me and will one day be passed down to my boys and their family. This homemade family banana bread recipe has become a staple in our home. It's soft, moist, perfectly sweet, and the best way to use overripe bananas. Whether you're baking for your family, meal prepping breakfast or snacks, or simply looking for a cozy weekend treat, this classic banana bread recipe is one you'll make again and again.
Why You'll Love This Banana Bread Recipe:
There are hundreds of banana bread recipes online, but there's something special about a recipe that's been loved for generations!
My Nana made this banana bread throughout my childhood, and now I bake it for my own family. Every time I pull a loaf from the oven, it brings back memories of her kitchen(s), the lake house & boat rides, family gatherings and laughter, maybe some random sing songing from some corner of the house, and the simple joy of homemade food. It's so rewarding taking scratch kitchen ingredients and baking or cooking it into something people gather around for. Its one of my true joys of homemaking.

The Secret to Moist Banana Bread:
The key to the best banana bread is using very ripe bananas.
Look for bananas that are heavily spotted or mostly brown. The riper they are, the sweeter and more flavorful your banana bread will be.
If your bananas aren’t ripe enough, place them in a paper bag for a day or two, or bake them in the oven at 300°F for about 15-20 minutes until the peels darken.

Ingredients
3 ripe bananas, mashed
2 cups all-purpose flour
